GWI celebrates women in ICT with Griffith University bursary award

GWI is delighted to announce the winner of the company’s Griffith University Women in ICT bursary for 2018.

Bachelor of Computer Science student Anna Andraszek was awarded as the 2018 winner at an Academic Awards Presentation Ceremony in Brisbane on Tuesday 26 June.

Presenting the award GWI Partner Dr Vanessa Douglas-Savage said that the company is proud of its commitment to supporting women in sciences and technology.

“At GWI our workforce has a very strong contingent of over 50% women.”

“We’re proud to support and inspire females in the field of information and communications technology, to whom our own amazing women provide guidance and mentorship” she said.

Excited to undertake an internship with the company at the end of the year, Anna is looking forward to learning more about information and data and its impact on the world around us.

“This field attracted me because of its limitless potential going into the future, and I’m keen to get more practical experience and learn more about data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence” she said.

The annual GWI Bursary for Women in ICT bursary was established to support and inspire females in the field of Information and Communication Technology.
