Lutheran Services is a Queensland-based provider of aged care, community and family, disability and mental health services. With 18 support arms operating across urban and regional Queensland, it employs more than 1,350 staff and is supported by volunteers and community collaborations.
Like many in the sector, Lutheran Services was facing challenges fuelled by ageing technologies and IT infrastructure, with siloed business information and a lack of integration across systems making it difficult for staff to obtain real-time and comprehensive data insights.
Understanding the value of agility and need to leverage technology to respond to changing client needs, improve workforce efficiency and support stronger evidence-based decision-making, Lutheran Services decided to embark on a journey that would help them to digitally transform and meet key strategic priorities.
They turned to GWI for support.
Assessing the current state-of-play
Initially, we undertook a review of data and information practices and collaborated with staff to better understand pain points, with the insights captured providing a baseline for improvement. The team conducted an analysis of current expenditure, skills and capabilities, alongside existing technology systems, to identify risks and issues relevant to the Lutheran Services growth agenda.
Next, we designed the blueprint for ICT and information management to support Lutheran Services’ strategic priorities, with an implementation plan outlining a pragmatic approach to delivery.
A foundation for the future
A more contemporary application of digital technology that enables better access to data and information has provided Lutheran Services with a strong foundation for the future.
From improving the customer experience, to delivering efficiencies across the business, our work with Lutheran Services has not only equipped them with the tools needed to continue their digital transformation journey, it’s supported a fundamental shift in mindset from regulation and compliance to one of growth and innovation.
